Neil Richardson
Chief Executive Officer

Neil Richardson is CEO and Founder of Purestream Technology. Richardson has dedicated himself and Purestream to the development and deployment of solutions that solve the energy and waste challenges facing the world’s oil and gas producers.

While owning and operating one of the cleanest waste disposal facilities in Eastern Utah, Richardson witnessed first hand the challenges facing the oil and gas production industry. He established a strategic partnership with Utah State University’s Research Foundation’s Energy Dynamics Lab and Space Dynamics Lab to engineer and develop state-of-the-art solutions that would address water, air and power issues. The resulting technologies are economically viable, environmentally responsible solutions that address the major environmental challenges facing not only the oil and gas production industry but a myriad of other industries that encounter similar environmental issues. Richardson’s goal is to lead the way in the advancement and implementation of adaptive solutions in varying industrial landscapes. Richardson is a graduate of University of Utah.

J. Clair Batty
Technology Partner

Dr. Batty graduated from USU with BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and was awarded the Doctor of Science degree from MIT in 1969. Upon joining the Mechanical Engineering faculty at Utah State University (USU), much of his career has has been spent in the classroom educating the next generation of mechanical engineers. He has supervised the research of more than 60 MS and PhD candidates and is the author of over 150 journal articles and technical papers. Batty has served as an international consultant with assignments in Canada, Africa, India, Israel, Europe, and Asia. His innovative solutions for satellite cooling challenges are regarded as a significant factor in attracting more than 100 million dollars in spaceflight contracts to USU’s Space Dynamics Laboratory.

In 1983 he became Associate Director of the Utah Water Research Laboratory and in 1997 Department Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. In 2001, he received the prestigious Trustee Professor designation by the USU Board of Trustees and was appointed Fulbright Senior Scholar by the Council or the International Exchange of Scholars. In 2003, Dr. Batty was awarded the Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology and named Utah’s Engineering Educator of the Year by the Utah Engineer’s Council. For the past 2 years he has been the Director of the Utah Center of Excellence for Thermal Management Technologies at USU. He is currently focused on entrepreneurial ventures and is founder and partner in two new startup companies. He was named USU’s Technology Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009.

Chris Jahn
Vice President of Research and Development

Chris Jahn has spent the last 42 years designing produced water systems for the oil and gas industry. A chemist by education, Chris is a U.S Patent holder of hydraulic induced gas separation equipment. His current position is as Vice President of Research and Development with Purestream Technology. Chris began his career in 1969 working for a number of major oilfield service companies. Earlier in his career Chris was hired by a Melbourne, Australia based company to introduce liquid hydrocyclone technology to the U.S. oil and gas industry. This technology is still being used in offshore platforms today. Shortly after, he received a U.S. Patent for the horizontal hydraulic, multi-cell IGF which was marketed by L’eau Claire Filtration. He also designed and built the first single cell, vertical IGF, marketed through startup company, Unicel.

Unicel and L’eau Claire Filtration were later purchased by Petreco, which was the world’s largest oilfield equipment company. Petreco was then acquired by Fortune 500 company, Cameron. Chris resigned from Cameron in 2009 to work for Purestream Technology and Neil Richardson. He graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry and currently resides in Southern California.

Amy Hansen
Special Projects

Amy Hansen holds the position of Special Projects Director, serving as Executive Assistant to the CEO and overseeing public relations in the state of Utah. Amy has spent the last ten years managing projects within the State of Utah with heavy emphasis on organization, fundraising and elections. She has worked with U.S. Senator Jake Garn, Chairman Jim Hansen and served as Campaign Manager and Special Projects Director for Governor Mike Leavitt.

Ms. Hansen served on the Board of Trustees for the University of Utah from 2004 through 2006. She co-owned and operated an event production and Public Relations company, Events West, which produced hospitality programs and events for the State of Utah, Governor Leavitt and other private companies during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. From 2005 to 2010 Ms. Hansen consulted in the energy sector for Oil Shale Exploration Companies providing federal, state and local government affairs assistance and consultation.

Tareq W. Alnajjar
Product Line Manager

Tareq is Product Line Manager for Purestream Technology. Tareq has twelve years of professional experience relating to project management. Responsibilities include production and manufacturing, management of research, and development projects and international business development. Prior to Purestream, Tareq was a Project Manager and Research Scientist for the Energy and Geoscience Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as a Senior Field Engineer for Schlumberger. During his time at Slumberger, Tareq was responsible for acquiring data, client consultation and safety. Additionally, he was involved in training and mentoring large operational units for Schlumberger in many international postings, which included South-East Asia, Middle East, Europe, and North America. Tareq was also a key committee member for the Kuwait Public Authority for Industry. Tareq earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Utah.

Todd Whiting
Deployment Director

Todd Whiting is Deployment Director for Purestream Technology. In this role, he works closely with engineering, manufacturing, logistic and in-field service partners. He is directly responsible for progress on all product line development, manufacturing, and startup/commissioning efforts of Purestream Technology components deployed in the field. Previous experience includes a variety of business management roles within companies in various growth stages. Companies have ranged from semi-conductor clean-room contractors, production home builders, commercial construction companies and real-estate development firms — filling roles such as VP of Operations, Sr. Project Manager, eBusiness Manager, Estimating/Purchasing Manager and Superintendent. Todd earned his BS in Construction Management from Brigham Young University.

Todd Ennenga
Vice President of Business Development

Todd has over 20 years of experience in managing programs in business management for Fortune 500 institutions and privately held companies. Prior to Purestream, Todd was a partner with EnergyNorthAmerica, a leader in consulting and strategic planning for energy companies. Prior to his partnership in EnergyNorthAmerica, Todd served as Director of Policy and Government Affairs for Devon Energy, one of the largest producers of energy in North America. In his nearly 10 years with Devon, Todd developed government affairs and community outreach programs while also handling and supervising local, state and federal issues. Todd also served as director of a business advocacy and economic development organization in the Intermountain West, coordinating one of the largest industrial site pollution mitigation and re-use programs in the Rockies. He began his career in business development and marketing with two of the nation’s largest consumer product companies.

Andrea Metil
Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Andrea Metil is Vice President of Marketing and Communications. With over nine years of professional experience, Andrea has worked with over fifty startup and early stage companies specializing in promotion, funding, strategy development and implementation. Current responsibilities include marketing, public relations, business development and community relations. She has worked in a development capacity with both privately held and publicly traded organizations during various stages of business. Prior to Purestream, she provided a range of consulting services to emerging companies and was also employed by two Fortune 500 ranked financial companies, including PNC Financial Services Group where she was one of the companies youngest recipients of a Vice President/Officer title. While working in the financial industry, she directed a broad range of operations across various lines of business with a heavy emphasis in commercial business development.

John Holbrook
Controller

John Holbrook serves as controller for Purestream Technology. John has worked in a financial oversight and management capacity for over nine years, primarily in the area of waste management and disposal. John began his career as Certified Public Accountant in Boise Idaho, then became Divisional Controller for Allied Waste Management, a Fortune 500 company and the second largest solid waste disposal company in North America . In his five years with Allied, John managed all financial accounting functions for a business unit that had over $140 million in revenue. He started with Purestream Technology in 2008 as one of the company’s first employees.
