The Marcellus Shale is one of the largest natural gas fields in North America, and its scope continues to expand. Due to recent technological advances made in the industry over the past 5-7 years, the Marcellus formation could hold a volume of up to 500 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of natural gas – 16 times more than previous estimates.
